On the first day live, 75% of potential patient end-of-shift care plan notes were AI-generated. After two months, that number has jumped to more than 90% across Mercy’s 50 hospitals. Compared to baseline care plan notes filed last year, we’ve had a 225% improvement in shift care plan documentation.

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System improved nurse satisfaction and efficiency by involving nursing leaders and front-line staff in EHR decision-making. Governance changes led to time-saving improvements such as turning on flowsheet macros to fill in standard values with one click and device integration to reduce manual documentation, saving 9,000 hours annually. Spartanburg Regional now ranks in the top 25% of Epic organizations for nursing documentation time.

Advocate Health and WellSpan Health are seeing positive results from care models that incorporate virtual nurses. Across 25 hospitals that use virtual nurses, Advocate Health saw 43,000 hours saved for bedside nurses in 2024. WellSpan Health also reports time savings and has seen an 8% decrease in nurse turnover at one hospital. Both organizations have observed improvements in patient experience.

Helsinki University Hospital in Finland is the first healthcare provider in the country to implement barcode scanning for medication administration. Since doing so, dispensing errors have decreased by 52% and administration errors have decreased by 35%—improving patient safety.
