COVID-19 Patients Put Remote Care to the Test

Any Cleveland Clinic patient who tests positive for Covid-19 can enroll in a home-monitoring program [through MyChart] that sends a push notification at 6 a.m. each day, asking them to log their symptoms. Red flags like shortness of breath typically elicit a call from a virtual physician who is on call to help patients decide whether to remain at home or report to an ER. About 6,500 patients who have tested positive … have enrolled in the program, which is currently monitoring about 350 patients.
