Citing the harmful germs hidden in ties and the need to improve patient safety, CNC is requiring in Meaningful Use Stage 3 that all Eligible Providers wear bowties instead of ties. Dr. Farzad Mostashari, the National Coordinator, stated that, “bowties are as important for patient safety as good hand washing.”
