Lakeland Health Integrates Michigan’s Immunization Registry with Epic

Providing easy access to state immunization records in Epic

Lakeland Health clinicians now have up-to-date immunization records right at their fingertips for any Michigan resident who comes to Lakeland for care. Recently, Lakeland Health, in partnership with Great Lakes Health Connect, became the first organization in Michigan where providers can access the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) web portal directly from Epic.

With this integration, providers can access immunization records without interrupting their regular workflows.

Kenneth O’Neill, M.D., Lakeland’s vice president of clinical integration, says this change gives physicians more convenient access to immunization records and helps them ensure all patients are correctly vaccinated. “GLHC’s immunization query functionality allows more time and greater attention to be focused on patient care,” he says. “That, to me, is a home run.”
