Chronicling Our Epic History

If you took a time machine to Epic’s past, you’d see as many similarities as you’d see differences. While technology has advanced at an ever-increasing rate, we’ve been putting patients at the heart of healthcare since 1979. Over 40 years, Epic staff have passed down core values, stories, successes, and traditions to maintain for the future.

Our archive is home to more than 1,300 artifacts that enrich these stories and traditions. Photographs, hardware, minutes from staff meetings, and images of past Epic interfaces all tell a unique tale about how far we’ve come.

For example, past Users Group Meeting brochures show founder Judy Faulkner’s decades-long tradition of delivering her annual address to the Epic community in costume.
