Catholic Health Credits Epic System for Smooth Vaccine Rollout

When Catholic Health invested $135 million to convert the entire health system to the Epic electronic medical records system, leaders anticipated many benefits down the line.

Turns out the Epic system played a major role this winter/spring to track, schedule and manage a mass vaccination program. The $1.3 billion Buffalo health system gives Epic credit for enabling the distribution of nearly 12,000 vaccine shots to health care workers and others in New York’s 1A category since late December.
