Taking soda off the shelves
To combat health risks associated with high soda consumption, health institutions have begun to reduce or eliminate soda from their cafeterias, food trucks, and restaurants. University of California San Francisco recently stopped offering soda on its campus, leading to a 25% drop in employee soda consumption, according to a survey. Now they’re looking into the health effects of the cutback, and early results are promising.
Epic also removed soda from its cafeterias earlier this year, an announcement that drew cheers from Epic staff.
