Flashback to 2008: The Very First Care Everywhere Patient

76-year-old Francine Fox made history in 2008 as the first patient in the world to have her records exchanged between separate organizations using Care Everywhere

When 76-year-old Francine Fox arrived at the emergency department at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, she made history as the first patient in the world to have her records exchanged between separate organizations using Care Everywhere interoperability. Doctors at Long Beach Memorial were able to view her complete medical history, previous diagnoses, tests, medications, allergies, and other crucial information from her regular physician at Talbert Medical Group – without having to wait for patient records to be transferred from one group to another. It was like magic. Today, over a quarter of a billion records have been exchanged in the last year.
