The questionnaire gathers specialty-specific information up front, reducing follow-up calls and automatically generating appointment requests—helping scheduling staff respond faster and get children into care sooner.

Three NHS trusts built clinical guidelines into Epic to reduce unnecessary testing and clinical waste. Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust estimates that it avoids more than 20,000 coagulation tests and prevents 3.5 tons of carbon emissions annually in one emergency room. Guy’s and St. Thomas’ and King’s College NHS Foundation Trusts collectively saved £4 million in two years by decreasing unnecessary lab tests.
Electronic Exchange with the Social Security Administration Speeds Up Disability Benefits for Patients

MetroHealth is one of nearly 300 Epic organizations exchanging data electronically with the Social Security Administration (SSA). By automatically responding to SSA requests for medical records, MetroHealth saves 2,800 staff hours—1.5 FTEs—and helps 10,000 patients per year receive faster benefits decisions.
