Saint Francis Uses Epic to Reduce CAUTI Rates by 76%

Using clinical decision support and reporting in Epic, Saint Francis reduced the incidence of CAUTI by 76%, and their sepsis mortality rate dropped from an already-low 21% to 16%. More efficient documentation, meanwhile, helped Saint Francis save $1 million in transcription costs over a two-year period. For these and other achievements, Saint Francis was awarded HIMSS Stage 7.
