Automated reports and improved workflows with Epic’s Infection Control module are giving infection preventionists at Edward Hospital more hours to spend on infection prevention projects. Thanks to their efforts, Edward Hospital saw the following infection improvements last year:
74% reduction in surgical site infection (SSI) after colon surgery
67% reduction in central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI)
32% reduction in catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI)
23% reduction in hospital onset difficile infection
