OSUWMC Avoids $10m in Denials with Epic’s Revenue Guardian

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center uses Epic’s Revenue Guardian to catch surgical claims without all the necessary implant information prior to sending them out. This proactive check prevented $10 million in denials in 2015—avoiding payment delays and unnecessary rework. Revenue Guardian checks also led to $2.5–5 million in increased gross revenue during the same time period.
