Cambridge First Organization Outside of US to be Recognized
as Most Wired
Cambridge University Hospitals and its eHospital platform designed by Epic became the first health organization outside the United States to be designated as a Most Wired hospital. Hospitals recognized as Most Wired demonstrate improved health care-associated infection surveillance, use clinical and demographic data in conjunction with population health management tools, and are more likely to incorporate data from retail pharmacies and government agencies.
Dr. Afzal Chaudhry, Chief Medical Information Officer and Renal Consultant at CUH, said that, “A key part of the eHospital programme is the Epic electronic patient record system which is used concurrently by 3,200 clinical staff, at peak times.
“Epic brings together all clinical and administrative information about each of our patients, in one electronic system, recorded in real-time on mobile and handheld devices.”
Congratulations to Cambridge University Hospitals and all the Epic community members that have been named one of America’s most wired hospitals and health systems. To read more about the Most Wired Hospitals click here. To read more about Cambridge University Hospitals click here.
