Researchers Print Microscopic Camera

The camera could allow for less invasive surgeries

Researchers at the University of Stuttgart designed and 3D-printed a tiny camera that’s only 120 micrometers wide—as thin as a human hair. The camera can be attached to a fiber optic cable and injected into the body, where it can take pictures of difficult-to-reach parts of the body, like the brain. Above is a picture of the camera next to the eye of a fly.
