Enterprise Reporting
Epic gives you the flexibility to design, schedule and distribute reports - while maximizing convenience and minimizing the impact on system response time. Our reporting functions account for and balance the unique needs of operational and analytical reporting. Epic provides a variety of flexible reports, queries, graphs and charts for onscreen display and printing, so users with various skill levels can make use of the information collected in the Epic data repository.
For operational queries that are needed in real time or near real time, Epic offers tools that can query production or a dedicated reporting shadow server containing a full copy of the production database. Key functionality includes Epic's Reporting Workbench, which gives end users a template-driven GUI system for running on-demand queries and taking immediate action on the results retrieved by a query, such as adding a patient to a personal electronic roster.
Epic's Clarity application is for reports that are less time-sensitive and involve more intensive statistical analysis than operational reports. Epic has developed standard extracts for exporting production data to a separate Oracle or MS SQL Server database, allowing organizations to use familiar third-party report writers to analyze Epic data. Clarity reports developed by Epic and Epic clients using Business Objects' Crystal Reports - including PQRI and other pay-for-performance reports - are available from a web-based Community Library. Clarity can also act as a source for an external data warehouse.
Epic's reporting helps organizations gain a competitive edge in the marketplace, analyzing revenue cycles, clinical outcomes and other key information to identify areas of strength and diagnose potential problems.
