Hospitals Use EpicCare
EpicCare Inpatient Clinical System
EpicCare spans hospital departments and roles to connect each member of the care team to a single record and embedded clinical intelligence. It ensures that clinical decisions are based on the most up-to-date information and promotes care that is safe and well-coordinated.
For every user, active clinical decision support and role-based workflow support make it easier to do the right thing. At the same time, the system can conform in important ways to the preferences of individual organizations, departments, and even single users.
The system supports physicians, nurses, and others on the care team with:
|
|
|
- Employed Physicians - EpicCare Ambulatory EMR
- Community Physicians via a shared record - Connecting Affiliates
- Community Physicians via record exchange - Epic Interoperability
- Paper-based Physicians via Web portal - EpicCare Link
A detailed After Visit Summary gives the patient a clear list of medications as well as other home instructions and educational materials relevant to the stay - the same materials available on the MyChart Bedside tablet and the MyChart patient portal at home. For patients discharged to post-acute facilities not on Epic, the integrated EpicCare Link clinical portal and Care Everywhere HIE software provide the information needed for a safe transition.
Included dashboards and other analytics - give users in each hospital role the information they need to maintain high quality care and to fine-tune operations. Clinical and operational dashboards improve the ability of hospitals to achieve strategic priorities - such as minimizing re-admissions, monitoring quality, or improving efficiency. Meaningful Use reports are also provided.
