ACHE Gold Medal Award
Mark Neaman, president and CEO of Epic customer NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Ill., is the recipient of the 2009 Gold Medal Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives.
The award, which is the ACHE's highest honor, went to Neaman for his work establishing one of the nation's first system-wide electronic health-record systems that demonstrably improved quality, safety and efficiency. NorthShore was formerly known as Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. The health system also launched one of the nation's first universal methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus surveillance programs under Neaman.
