A team at Tel Aviv University has invented a “cyborg heart patch” that can help patients recovering from heart attacks and other cardiac events. The patch combines living tissue with electronics and when installed, allows doctors to remotely monitor heart functions and release drugs to regulate abnormalities. Given the potential threat a hacker could impose, the team is working on a device that is self-regulated offline to minimize risk.
